CO2 Fractional Ablative Laser

A CO2 fractional ablative laser is an advanced skin resurfacing technology that uses a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser to deliver micro-beams of light to the skin. This creates tiny, controlled "microthermal treatment zones" (MTZs) while leaving the surrounding tissue intact to accelerate healing. Prices start from £80 per session.

How it works

  • Ablative resurfacing: The laser removes the outer layers of damaged skin, which forces the skin to regenerate.

  • Fractional columns: Instead of treating the entire skin surface, it creates microscopic "columns" of treatment, leaving small areas of untouched skin between them. This allows for quicker healing than traditional ablative lasers.

  • Collagen stimulation: The heat from the laser stimulates the production of new collagen, which tightens the skin and improves its overall appearance.

Conditions treated

CO2 fractional ablative lasers are effective for a range of cosmetic and medical skin issues, including:

  • Fine lines and moderate-to-deep wrinkles

  • Scars (from acne, surgery, and trauma)

  • Uneven skin texture and tone

  • Hyperpigmentation and sun damage, including age and sun spots

  • Skin laxity (sagging skin)

  • Enlarged pores
